Dr. James Laxer you are so right on. Canada does need a sustainable economic plan and all of our major cities-at least= need to be re-modeled to make them sustainable as well.

What about Canada's development of oil and gas in the arctic? There is an estimated 100 to 200 billion barrels of recoverable oil, and approximately 2000 trillion cubic feet of natural gas; with the ice melting, maybe the long term goal is to develop the industry based on these deposits as well. Is it just the tar sands the conservatives speak of when they talk about becoming an "energy super power?"
